Our Commitment to Web Accessibility

Kendall Construction, Inc. wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use trustkendall.com (the “Site”). We are working to make the Site usable for people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification software and keyboard-only navigation.
Our Standard
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our goal. These internationally recognized guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. We review new pages and content against these guidelines as we add them to the Site.
How We Test
We test the Site using the Accessibility Checker WordPress plugin, along with manual checks such as navigating with a keyboard only and reviewing color contrast. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we fix issues as we find them.
Accessibility Features on Our Site
Features we have included to improve accessibility:
- a “Skip to content” link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the main navigation
- text alternatives (alt text) for images
- a clear heading structure, with one main heading on each page
- labeled form fields on our Contact and Careers forms
- pages that can be zoomed and resized, with a layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops
- page language identified so screen readers pronounce content correctly
- descriptive titles on embedded content, such as the map on our Contact page
Where We’re Improving
We are currently working on:
- making link text more descriptive so each link makes sense on its own
- making sure “Skip to content” links move focus to the main content on every page
- adding captions or a text transcript for video content
- adding a way to pause the background video on our home page
- letting visitors know when a link will open in a new tab or window
Third-Party Content
Some content on the Site comes from other companies, such as embedded Google Maps, YouTube and Vimeo videos, and links to our social media pages. We cannot control the accessibility of third-party content or of other websites we link to.

It helps to include the web address of the page and a short description of the problem. We will do our best to respond promptly and get you the information you need.
