Teresa Cuevas Statue Project
Teresa Cuevas was a founder of Mariachi Estrella – one of the first all-female Mariachi groups in the United States. A life-size bronze statue will honor her memory at the 600 block of Kansas Avenue, close to the main entrance of Evergy
Plaza. It is the first Hispanic and women among the other statues along Kansas Avenue in Downtown Topeka.
We are honored to be part of this project and partnering with DL Smith Electric, Schendel Landscape, Concrete Unlimited and Skeeba Studios.
Here are photos of the progression of bringing this historic project to life.
Menninger Clinic Pocket Park
A new pocket park celebrating The Menninger Clinic’s world-changing work and significant place in Topeka History will be located at the 600 Block of Kansas Avenue, across the street from Evergy Plaza.
